Michigan Short Track Racing Club > Race Tracks > Pavement Tracks

Not to bash the track but every caution the cars have to go to turn 1 and have track officals look at cars for damage and to see if anybody takes blame This is the worst thing at this place The flag man needs to make the call he can tell them where to go and if they have damage go to the pits its not your nite Do like dirt tracks no stopping on the track period THE FLAG MAN NEEDS TO MAKE CALLS and decisions I counted caution laps in pure stock class average 7 laps a caution for 1 car spinning No more white flag turn the lites out and go green like it used to be If somebody draws a yellow park them When Beebe flagged there he came out of the stand stopped the cars and lined them then lites out back to racin People come watch racing not fixing !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until its you with a tire rub! I can appreciate them helping the guys with a small issue. I hope they will continue to do it.

I think that guys would be less likely to risk an incident where a tire rub might occur, if they knew they were going into the pits to get it fixed (and dropping out of the race) then getting a track worker to help them out.

I like race receivers and transponders too !

I dont think anyone intentionally tries to risk an incident. Its an accident in most cases. (with obvious exceptions.) Not getting taken out of the race for somthing tiny is very important, at least to me.

This topic is going to be addressed shortly in upcoming drivers meetings. Thank you.

You must also consider that a driver in a good position will stay out and risk himself or another car due to a tire rub. When if an official takes two seconds to pull the fender up that might not happen.

fixing cars on the is stupid go to a dirt track and see how they do it crystal, mt p, if a car pulls down they will look at it if its rubbuin a tire they will tell them and they will go to the pits for repair its not for the track crew to fix its for your pit crew to do 3gears.gif 3gears.gif

At Auto City this year, I needed my hood removed so I could see. The track official told me to go to the pit area. I like the idea of knowing what is wrong and I do not support fixing the car on the track.

if a car is tore up go to the pits dont risk a track worker getting hurt fenders rubbing tires are hot or sharp

We don't need raceceivers...... we just need to be ready for the green, just like on the dirt. My racing family members warned me the first time I ever raced on the dirt," Be ready for the green... It could come at any time." Give us one time under the backstretch with the Yellow lights out... If the Lights are out, be ready for the green. If you get the green and you're not ready, I bet that'll be the last time you get it and aren't ready. you snooze, you lose. No one wants to lose. Including the fans watching 50 second caution laps, over and over again.
It's not always the tracks fault. Drivers should not stop and wine about getting their spot back. Or... if that driver punts someone out of the way, don't even look at their car. Send them to the pits for repairs. If a driver gets tangled up in a mess, not of their making, then help them once.
I was guilty of stopping twice on Sat. Once because the car I started behind was smoking terribly, I wanted to make sure it was not me risking other drivers lives because of an ill prepared race car. The second was when I spun and the whole inside filled with smoke. They said I was leaking something... So,as not to be a danger, I pulled in, fixed it, then returned.

you could also do like I-96 did you spin twice in a heat go to the pits , but it requires spotters from the track. cautions at the big o take way to long but i know it will be handled correctly because the management at owosso also wants a good fast clean show and will address the constant crashers. 31.
