DeWitt, Michigan (Wednesday, August 27, 2008): History will be made at the historic ¼ mile semi-banked paved oval of Spartan Speedway, located Southeast of Lansing in Mason, Michigan this Sunday, August 31, 2008.

The tracks annual Harvest 100 for Outlaw Bodied Super Late Models traditionally held over the Labor Day Holiday Weekend, closes out the racing season at “The Track the Stars Call Home.”

The 25th edition of the Harvest 100, established in 1983, will see a once in a lifetime event by a family who’s name is synonymous with racing in the Capital City. For the first and only time, three members of the Finley Family will race together in one event at their home track!

16-year-old Chad Finley will be racing along-side his Uncle Doug Finley, that’s been done before in Outlaw Bodied Super Late Models competition at Spartan over the last two seasons.

But what makes this event so unique is that for the first and only time, Chad’s Father and Car Owner, Jeff Finley will also race this weekend as the Five-Time Track Champion at the Mason, Michigan speed plant with the most recent coming in 2003, will come out of retirement for one race only and steer his son’s #42 for the 100-lap Feature.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been behind the wheel,” Jeff stated as the former competitor in the ARCA RE/MAX Series prepares for the weekend and will race for the first time since the 2005 racing season. “I really enjoy watching Chad grow, so it makes it real easy for me not to miss driving race cars.”

“Chad has a tremendous amount of talent and if I were still racing, it would only take time away from his program,” The two-time Harvest 100 Winner continued. “This Sunday though, he and my Brother Doug will get reintroduced to the old man.” He smiled.

“If there was ever place for me to get back in a car its Spartan,” Finley continued. “I grew up there as a kid with my folks so it’s a very special place for me. Great close side-by-side racing and you really need good reflexes. Hope I still have them.” The DeWitt, Michigan legend added.

His son, Chad is ecstatic about the opportunity to race against his Father as well as his Uncle in the same event and ironically will be driving his Uncle Doug’s back-up ride with the #29x across the doors and carrying the Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores and Certified Service Centers colors.

“My dad is the best in my book. He has a knack that no one else has and hopefully with him racing, I’ll get a refresher course in the first half of the race and give it back to him in the second half.” He predicted.

The DeWitt, Michigan teenager added; “He has taught me a lot and I’ve been after him to come out and race me and to be able to show him what I’ve learned and now I get the chance.”

The 16-year-old, despite missing several weekly shows at Spartan due to his ASA Late Model Series commitments, finished sixth in points with one Feature Win. “Hopefully we all have good race cars and all three of us can battle it out,” The youngest Finley added.

“I don’t plan on taking it easy on the old man either!” He laughed. “Like he tells me all the time "Man up and get after it" so he better practice what he has been preaching.” He remarked.

The youngest Finley will be driving an unfamiliar number to his fans as he’ll steer Doug Finley’s blue #29 which is his Uncle’s back-up ride. “I have always wanted to race with my Grandpa even though the car I drive is his and based out of our race shop in DeWitt.” He explained.

“This will be a lot of fun for Gramps and I. Dad will drive the familiar #42 car so he has no excuses at the end of the night.” The teenager ended.

Another two-time winner of the Harvest 100, Jeff’s brother, Doug Finley, an Eight-Time Track Champion at Spartan with the most recent title coming in the 2007 season, will be behind the wheel of his popular white #29 carrying primary sponsorship from the families business, Northside Service, is just as excited about racing his brother as his nephew is;

“This will be a great day for my folks. Mom and Dad have supported us all over the years to make all of our accomplishment possible,” Stated the Lansing, Michigan veteran who finished fourth in the 2008 Final Points Standings and picked up Two Feature Wins during the season.

“All three of us on the track at the same time; Wow, I can’t wait! Chad has come along way the last year and is a step away from putting it all together week in and out, I enjoy racing with him.” He continued

“Jeff has enjoyed a great deal of success over the years and there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind he will be a contender, but make no mistake though this is a big race to win and I have every intention of doing so.” “Uncle Doug ended.

The weekend for Team Finley Racing actually begins on Saturday, August 30, 2008 when the 16-year-old Finley will return to Super Pro Late Model Series action and will race at the 3/8s mile high-banked paved oval of Springport Motor Speedway, located just an hour South of the race shop, in Springport, Michigan on Saturday, August 30th.

The running of the Lipari Foods 75 Presented by Teamtech Motorsports will kick off the Labor Day Weekend for Chad. In his only other Super Pro appearance, he shattered the track record and won the Feature going away at Spartan Speedway back on July 18th.

Jeff Finley’s Outlaw Bodied Super Late Model will carry the familiar #42 that he’s been associated with over the years. His car will have the Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores and Certified Service Centers decals as well as the AutoPart2020.com colors for the Harvest 100.

In addition, more sponsorship comes from; Northside Service, Nalett Trucking, Renewal Technologies, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Velocity Graphix, Howe Racing Enterprises, M.P.H. Promotions, Team Rensi Motorsports, and Team Finley Racing.

Chad and Doug Finley will both steer identical #29’s with Chad carrying an “x” next to his number as well as the Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores and Certified Service Centers and AutoParts2020.com colors.

In addition, both machines will carry sponsorship from Northside Service as well as Mike Childers and Sons Excavating, Howe Racing Enterprises, and Team Finley Racing.
