My real article will be coming but I just wanted to give credit to another up and coming driver in the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Michigan Legends Series, Tony Monge who garnered his first ever feature win in a Legends Car last night at Spartan. Tony made a late race pass on leader Matt Todd, who had lead from the green flag and was able to hold on for the win. For a while it looked like it was going to be either Brandon Mahoney or Chance Rice taking the win. Rice had worked his way up from the 12th starting position and was challenging Mahoney for the lead when racing luck stepped in and took away Rice's chance for his 9th feature win of the year when He and Mahoney made contact in the front stretch while racing for the lead resulting in Mahoney looping it in turn one and Rice looping in turn two. Both drivers would go to the rear leaving the battle between Todd and Monge to decide the race. Todd finished second with Ben Rouster third, Tyler Rycenga came home fourth and Levi Rouster grabbed fifth spot. These results are from memory as my run-down is at home right now. While there were numerous cautions for on track incidents there was some very exciting racing going on through out the 25 car field.

My complete story will be out later this weekend as I will be away from the computer until monday evening. Thanks to Spartan and the gang for having us out last night and everybody have a great Labor Day Holiday. Catch the races somewhere and enjoy the last summer holiday of 2008.

The Legends have a week off before heading to Flat Rock on September 13th, 2008.
