I think that Auto city needs to get a NEW FLAGMAN.... Who does Roger think he is coming down off his perch to yell at the drivers not once but twice tonight Isn't that RUSTY's job? I have noticed the last couple of weeks the things that he has done and I mean the 05 car during the figure 8 race comes down the FRONT STRETCH and goes right after the M15 car and spins him out...First of all why wouldn't you BLACK flag him??? No he didn't even see it DUH Last week I heard him yelling at a driver and asked him do you want to race here anymore??? Who says he has the right to say who races where??? No I am not part of ANY racin team I am a SPECTATOR and everytime I see people try and take AUTHORITY when they don't even have the say so it makes me mad...

roger does have a say. but some of the drivers feel they can do what ever they want and someone has to stop it. i am a driver and i know that you are not supposed to stop and talk to rusty as it just slows down the show. rusty does not have the authority like roger has. he is just on the track to help get us drivers lined back up. racing fuel is expensive and so many times around the track for a caution is just wasting not only the shows time but money out of our pockets that is unnessecary. it is like sitting there and holding up the race just because they don't like the call. settle it after the race. it may be to late then but atleast the show isn't draged on for an extra hour or two and we aren't wasting our fuel. not only the fuel but our cars start heating up as well and that is not good for our motors either. to be honest, i think roger should be saying more to the drivers, not rusty.

Well u don't think that coming down off his perch is wasting more time I thought that is why they have the radio head sets???? They use them don't they??? Rusty's job is not only to line them up but to relay the messages to Roger needs to stepp down as a flag man maybe they can get Mike Kern he will need a job soon

roger is one of the best flag men at least he throws the yellow unlike kern does,,,he doesnt drop flags on the ground...he doesnt hit the yellow light then not throw the yellow flag.....roger doent come off his perch unless the driver is being stupid and not listening....i can only name a cauple driver that sit and cry everytime...but those drivers are the ones who drive the dirtiest and cheat on restarts.....then when they dont get there way roger kicks them off the track....its neither rusty or rogers fault...blam the drivers that have to sit and cry....rusty does his job and goes beyond what he should have to...he is there to line the cars and make sure they are in order...not have to listen to cheating cry baby drivers.....if roger comes from his pearch as you say....something is wronge or someone is in trouble......

the only time they should talk to rusty is when and if there is something on the track...just to let them know so we dont wreck our cars worse then what we do ourselves....or unless they are called down to talk to him....thats it

wow. all i can say. I'm beginning to think Mike Kerns is a BETTER flag man my self. Your right Roger waives the red flag during the Figure 8 and turns on the light, and thats supposed to mean stop, but then, goes back to green. Real Smart Flagman there.

I think there are certain drivers who have a lot of growing up to do do.Until your up on that stand waving the flag you have no right to to tell someone how to do it?

Has nothing to do with growing up. You just don't waive the red flag, turn on the lights, and then decide to go back to green. Thats just stupid. I've been around racing a long time and from the stands, sure he looks like an alright flag man, but drive on the track with him doing it....

roger threw the red and rusty turned on the caution lights because the veiw of the track had become poor due to all the dust that had been kicked up. and the dust cleared before the flag and lights had been on for a minute. unlike earlier in the race. if you were in my spot u would have noticed this problem. i am sure the vantage point from higher up in the tower or flagstands couldn't have been any better. the reason to put out a caution and red flag a race is for the safety of the drivers. if nobody else can see where the cars are, how can the other drivers. SAFETY IS THE FIRST THING ANYONE DRIVING OR IN CHARGE SHOULD BE THINKING OF.
and when roger comes off the flagstand it usually means someone isn't paying attention to something. and he doesn't need to see something happen to black flag someone, there are spotters along the track who radio the info to him and rusty. not to mention the workers in the tower who keep track of everything on the track. so don't blame the flagmen they are only part of what information is being compilied to make the desions on the track.

CHRIS, THEY THROW THE CAUTION IF A CAR HAS SPUN OUT AND IS IN THE WAY, IF IT GETS OUT OF THE WAY BEFORE THE OTHER CARS COME AROUND THEY WILL GO BACK TO GREEN. DUH

Sure seems like it isn't worth it to take any active part in trying to run a race track, no matter what position you have there, from tow driver, to flagman, to owner, to promoter, to race director, to safety personnel, to track spotters, to corner flaggers, to line up people, to announcers, and on and on and on.

And, i have got to say something else here too.

Ever think that just maybe, the Founder of this site, affectionally known as the "Flounder", might just want to come on here and maybe, just maybe see a positive post about a track every once in a while?

I know if I were he, I would be thinking about what effect my site might be having on various tracks, and whether or not it were worth it to me personally to provide a website where there are more potshots and hit threads than positive threads.

Dead on Matt... absolutely dead on. It gets disheartening to read thread after thread after thread of nothing but negativity... and before any one pops up and says... "then don't read them!"... it's my job. I remove the increasing amount of profanity that pops up and I send notes asking or telling them to refrain from doing it again. It's a tough job and you get a lot crap from people who have no clue what is going on. If this site were to ever go away, this is exactly the reason.

Im going on my 7th year racing, and I have never seen them do that until this year. Not only was it NOT THE YELLOW flag it was the RED FLAG. Which means STOP. Not confuse the hell out of the drivers in an already dusty, hard to see figure 8. Easy to fight from your side of the fence huh. get on the track once, whole different picture. Corner Flaggers what are they???? There is nothing there at A/C like that and a race director come on they go thru them like wild fire why give these people postions when you have someone that comes on the radio and OVER RULES it kinda bad isn't it... All I was saying is that ROGER is a FLAG man thats it ... He should come down and yell at drivers and even when he is walking from one perch to the other when a driver approaches him he should never say "Keep it up if you ever want to race here anymore" Who the hell does he think he is last I knew a FLAG MAN couldn't tell someone if they could race there or not!!!!

Chris, I was discusing this with my husband last night, the person who called for the red flag was my son, Adam the SAFETY DIRECTOR who was on the track that night. Since my husband was working with him, on the truck, I believe him.
So if you have a problem with Adam for calling for the red flag take it up with him.

Well apparently you guys miss a lot of post cuz I continually read positive post regarding Owosso and the job Jeff and Rick are doing, and many many congratrlations to many drivers including myself. I hear people offering prayers and support for sick people or people in need. Yes we do too much track bashing, but this site is such a good thing for offering some pubic forum for people to get concerns off thier chest. Maybe we all should consider how to be more positive in every aspect of our lives, but all you have to do is turn on your TV to understand what a twisted and cunfused society we have in the good old USA. This site has bridged many gaps. There are people who I may have had preconcieved notions about until getting a chance to chat with them on here and they change my mind completely. (its funny cuz to a man, everyone I met at Springport said "I expected you to be some kind of punk from reading your post" That had me laughing all night. Just goes to show you you never know. But over all i think this site is a very positive thing, and you will never stop racers from voicing thier complaints about where they race, or in many cases where they used to race.

PS V you shouldnt have to take crap from anyone, if they disagree with you there is a way to go about voicing a complaint, and it is not to treat you poorly, plus that isn't going to work anyway. Just ask Claude! lol

Yea your right, We have no local tracks that have competent people working for them or owners that know anything about public relations or simply taking care of the ones that make them the money. They just don't care.
