Full Version: Whittemore Cookout last weekend
Michigan Short Track Racing Club > Race Tracks > Pavement Tracks

The cookout campout was a great success despite our weather. We had an even greater turnout than our first event and spent some good time with some new and old friends. Thanks to Carl, Hannah, Pauline, Dale and Janet for the hard work you did to pull off a nice day. Hannah spent additional time on the road running errands and keeping everyone fed other than the main meal. Thanks to the Irwins for the use of the monster pig roaster and to Randy for his corn roaster. H&H Bakery of Pinconning supplied some great food and our participants brought some wonderful side dishes. Bennies Party Rentals dropped off a party tent and we NEEDED it!! We had a couple down pours that were trying to dampen our spirits, but we persevered and did not float away. Thanks to all of our Mod friends who made the trek up north and I am happy to also report seeing dave scribner who made the trek up north recovering some from his bout in the hospital. On behalf of the Speedway and the club please join us the very next time you can for a weekend of fun!

Even though there were no races, the cookout was a great time. I want to thank everyone involved.THANK YOU. I had a blast swapping lies with the other drivers that I did'nt know until now. As the evening wore on everybody said I had a good time, so I'm sure I did! Would love to do this on a regular basis. It makes my great times at Whittemore Speedway even greater. Thanks again to all involved in putting this together. AWESOME job Jeff Heri P.S. If anybody picked up my Cabelas folding chair that I forgot, I would really love to have it back

Tim,
That is a cool idea! They do that in the business district of Tawas. You go business to business sampling the chili, we would just be campfire to campfire. We could do that friday night, as we will only be hotlapping until dark. A few cold beverages with lots of hot chili on a cool September night, with lots of racing the next day. "HOW BAD HAVE WE GOT IT"!! LOL Anyways, it was good seeing you back up at Whittemore, hopefully see ya saturday.
