Continuing from another thread. If I remember correctly, Big Ed put a lot of time into the Super Late Model Alliance Package. I just want to add these questions to the topic for discussion.

Should this be pursued further?

Do we still have to depend on an out of series to show case this class of racing?

berlin and kzoo run them everyweek evertime i was at either track they never ran anything less then 50 lap features.. i think its a big disapointment to go to the track and not see the supers there, but what can i do im just a spectator who cant spell for shit.thats what people want to see is the big boys come out and play.as long as its not a follow the leader thing...they have so much wraped up in the car...and the tracks dont pay well for them..thats why i think it went to traveling series i get to catch a couple times a year...when i use to watch ed,chase, ray and rod laney, weiss, bourdow, souve, doring, hell even cliff pully and cant forget kern...what happened to the good ole days of racing...there gone and there is nothing we can do ,but pay 20 to 25 bucks to go see them 2 to 3 times a year what a crock of shit if you ask me...

The SLM alliance is a BODY ONLY rule. Angola runs a different track width then the other tracks. Some tracks enforce some of the stupid rules, like the angle of the right side c-pillar has to be more then a certain (don't recall the number) degrees. Weight, right side percent, tires and rear spoiler, shocks and more are different at each track. Then some tracks have engine rules. So it really isn't an alliance at all. Then consider that the westside tracks aren't horsepower tracks and the eastside are, so the cars are really different on each side of the state. The few guys who travel either change engines or have them restricted to run on the westside. Most guys don't want to go through those hassles just to travel. The economy is also hurting the traveling.

We have SLM more or less weekly at Flat Rock... think it's 12 of 18 weeks (& there's two weeks that none of the regulars run ... buses and enduros). We get about 23-25 SLMs each week... I'm guessing that's a good field. Races are 50 laps. And I think it's only paying $900 to win.

Should have more the 22nd, there's a 100 lapper that day at FR (and 100 the night before at Toledo) or you can go to Auto City for their SLM race. Should have 25-30 SLMs at FR (but they only start 24, so technically that's all you need).
